There is a new website that is designed to speed up Internet access over slow or unreliable connections. Using Loband at www.loband.org can help you access other sites faster, making the Internet less frustrating and cheaper to use.

Loband works by compressing websites to produce a text-only version of the original site. Loband filters out images but you can still see the images that interest you by clicking on the links provided. This gives you more control.

To try Loband go to www.loband.org and type in a site you wish to see. The site requested will then be simplified, making it arrive faster. The Loband service is very simple to use, costs nothing, is open-source, and contains no advertising.

Loband currently works with most websites, although some complicated sites cannot be filtered and certain webmail (Internet email) applications are not yet available. The Loband team is working on improving the service and to ensure that they make it as effective as possible they need continual feedback from people who are using Loband.
