Insideout: M&E Specialists is a diverse and innovative team that takes pride in providing monitoring and evaluation services of the highest standards. Our evaluation approach is people-centred and consultative, with the aim of developing organisations and individuals. We are guided by principles of integrity, excellence and respect.
Although based in Cape Town, we regularly undertake projects in all nine provinces, as well as outside South Africa. Insideout’s country experience includes Zambia, Malawi, Swaziland, Nigeria, Mozambique, Kenya, Lesotho, Uganda, United States and United Kingdom. Focus areas include: crime prevention, youth at risk, HIV/AIDS, gender issues, civil society, rural poor, income generation, training programmes, public sector, alliances and partnerships, advocacy and lobbying, aid effectiveness.
We are regularly approached by government departments, donors and NPOs with the request to: - Assist organisations in clarifying how they conceptualise their programme, including making all assumptions explicit and agreeing on how to measure success (programme theory and indicator development workshops)
- Explore how programmes are being implemented (formative evaluations)
- Explore the impact of organisation’s activities on their intended beneficiaries (summative evaluations)
- Ensure that organisations are collecting all the information that is required in order to make decisions (monitoring)
- Build the capacity of staff members in M&E (training and mentoring)
Insideout’s a level four BEE contributor with a rating of 65 (100% recognition) and is committed to assist in the development of evaluation capacity among black South Africans, with a special interest in promoting women.
